Basildon Council was today reeling from the shock death of one of its most prominent councillors.
David Walsh, 50, left, represented Laindon Park on Basildon Council and Westley Heights on Essex County Council.
The father-of-two died of a suspected heart attack on Friday morning, but had been attending to council business only days before.
