A teenager was pulled from the sea after she got into difficulties swimming off Hipkins Beach.
Walton lifeboat was called out but was stood down almost immediately on Saturday lunchtime as it was not required.
A spokesman for Thames Coastguard at Walton said the 14-year-old girl, who is on holiday with her aunt who lives in the area, was pulled out by a member of the public.
