Orsett's woes at the wrong end of the table continued with an eight-wicket defeat at the hands of high-flying Hornchurch.
The hosts were in third place in the table but moved up to second as a result of bagging 18 points to Orsett's eight.
David Sherlock anchored the visitor's innings with 100. But they were bowled out with 252 on the scoreboard.
It proved too easy a target for Hornchurch as former Essex man Adrian Rollins hit an unbeaten 128 and Robert Rollins chipped in another 55 as the hosts replied with 256-2.
The results leaves Orsett nine points adrift of ninth-placed Harlow.
