A 12-year-old schoolboy is recovering in hospital after suffering serious burns to his face and chest.
Police were called to a house at The Parade in Walton, yesterday afternoon.
They found the boy, who is believed to come from the Frinton area, at the address and he was airlifted to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford for treatment.
An Essex Police spokeswoman said that it was not believed that his injuries were life-threatening.
"The burns were to his face and chest and a tin of lighter fluid was recovered from the scene," she said. "Two people are currently in custody on suspicion of causing grevious bodily harm."
They are a 17-year-old from Dovercourt and a 15-year-old from Frinton. Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to contact Det Sgt Martin Brough at Clacton police station.
