Hundreds of shoppers and shop staff were evacuated from a south Essex shopping centre after a fire broke out in a former cinema.
The fire at the former Odeon in Chapel High, Brentwood, was discovered at peak shopping time on Saturday lunchtime and caused extensive interior damage to the building.
The cause of the fire was today still being investigated.
Nobody was injured in the incident.
