Detectives have admitted drawing a blank over the mysterious death of a woman found hanged in a bathroom.
Catherine Smith was discovered dead at a flat in Vange in the early hours of January 3.
An unnamed 26-year-old man, from Basildon, was arrested on suspicion of her manslaughter but released.
Detectives say he will face no action.
