A dedicated nurse has received a long service award for her years of hard work at Brentwood Community Hospital.
Ann Edwards of Hanging Hill Lane, Hutton, received an award for 20 years' service at the Crescent Drive hospital, where she has worked since 1980.
She was presented with shopping vouchers and a certificate from the chief executive of the Barking, Havering and Redbridge Hospitals Trust, Mark Rees, in a ceremony at Oldchurch Hospital in Romford.
"It was brilliant. I was very chuffed," said Ann, who is married to The Sun's royal photographer Arthur Edwards.
Ann has been a nurse since 1957 and says she has no plans to put her feet up and retire yet. "I still enjoy it," she added. "Why give it up if you enjoy it? We've got a lovely group of people here. We work as a team. We are very, very lucky."
