Essex County Bowls Club enjoyed mixed success in this week's round of Group Six matches.
In Division One the A team had a close encounter against opponents Bournemouth Park B with A Swan winning 20-16.
But C Jarratt lost 13-16 so County won by one shot overall and scored fourpoints.
Essex County's cadets got their chance at this high level of competitive bowls courtesy of the school summer holidays.
However, they lost on both rinks, with M Osborne going down 17-22 and D Dixey losing 16-22. All six points went to Belfairs A.
In Division Five the D team played the E team, with the D team coming out on top and taking four points.
J Wilks won 21-15 while P La Plain lost 21-22.
