The fight to clear Tendring's streets of untaxed and abandoned vehicles is being stepped up.
Essex Police, Tendring Council and Essex County Council have already run a number of initiatives in Clacton and Jaywick over the past year.
Now, plans are being drawn up to extend Operation Cubit to the rest of the district during this year.
Harry Shearing, portfolio holder for technical services on Tendring Council, said it had been a success so far, but the aim was to keep up the good work.
"The police and the DVLA have worked very hard on this and the two councils are fully supportive of what has been going on," he said.
"Residents made it clear they were fed up with the number of abandoned cars on the roads and the untaxed vehicles, which were cluttering the streets, and we decided something had to be done."
Under Operation Cubit, any vehicle worth less than £2,000 and in poor condition is crushed and cubed.
