Tes Bramble is gunning for goals at Grays Athletic tomorrow as he attempts to force his way into Southend United boss Steve Tilson's first team plans.

Gunning for goals - Blues hitman Tes Bramble

The 24-year-old striker has endured a mixed pre- season, but -- with one eye on next Saturday's League Two opener against Cheltenham Town -- he is determined to make an impression at the Recreation Ground as the Seasiders complete their close season preparations.

"I don't know much about Grays but if we do things the right way then we should be too strong for them," said the powerful front-runner.

"It's everyone's last chance to impress the gaffer and we will be hoping to put on a good show to try and get into his team."

Bramble netted during Blues' 7-0 thrashing of East Thurrock United, but has not scored since and admitted he had been disappointed with his recent showings.

"I thought I started strongly and I was feeling really sharp in the first few games," he added.

"But I've gone off the boil in the last couple of matches and I need to try and rediscover my best form because there are lots of strikers vying for the two places up front.

"That's a good thing though as it will keep everyone on their toes. There is no way anyone can become complacent."
