Non-League football's two most prestigious trophies will be on show as Billericay Town Football Club celebrates the 25th anniversary of winning the FA Vase for a historic third time.

The Vase and FA Trophy will both be on show at the club's Blunts Wall Road stadium to commemorate winning the FA Vase - a knockout competition for small non-league and amateur clubs - in 1976, 1977 and 1979.

In its 30-year existence, Billericay Town is the only club to have won the cup on three occasions.

As well as showing off the two trophies on Sunday, September 5, from 1pm to 5pm, Billericay Town Supporters' Club is also hosting a special challenge match at 2pm between the FA Vase Finals squad and a side picked by current Billericay Town manager Justin Edinburgh.

Supporters' club spokesman Andy Turner said: "Although Billericay Town no longer play in the FA Vase, and instead compete in the FA Trophy, the competition is still regarded very fondly here.

"It will mean an awful lot to people to have both trophies here and it will help us celebrate the club's glorious past in the FA Vase and, hopefully, a great future in the FA Trophy."

Among the Vase squad will be Kevin Young, whose dad Doug became the first player since Geoff Hurst to score a hat-trick in a Wembley cup final, when he notched up three goals against Almondsbury Greenway in the 1979 final.
