Southend's most famous seaside cafe wants to expand.
Rossi's, along Western Esplanade, wants to sell even more of the town's own icecream by expanding the premises.

A planning application has been submitted to Southend Council and plans are already on view at the Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue, showing the major investment needed.
They include excavating land on the eastern side of the premises, forming a new retaining wall and adding upper and lower terraces.
Also planned is the building of a single-storey extension to the restaurant and icecream parlour and using other land as an outdoor seating area for an adjacent restaurant.
The well-known cafe is no longer owned by the original Rossi icecream-making business. It was acquired by its new owner, Alain Bradja, about two years ago.
