If watching soccer ace Wayne Rooney during Euro 2004 has encouraged you to improve your football skills, then help is at hand.
To celebrate the recent launch of the Basildon Community Football Project, the council's leisure services has organised 25 coaching sessions for youngsters over the summer.
The project aims to use football as a tool to increase social inclusion in the community by offering local youngsters, who miss out on traditional training outlets, the opportunity to experience high-quality coaching.
The sessions will bring together a range of skill-based coaching to help improve ability and technique through a fun and practical programme of activities as well as short games, penalty and mini competitions.
A squad from Basildon Council is travelling around the district throughout the six-week holidays running various coaching sessions, which cost £2 each.
The summer coaching sessions will visit Vange Community Centre every Monday during the school break (not bank holiday).
They will be at Hannakins Farm, Billericay today, Abacus School, Wickford Tuesday August 3, Victoria Park, Laindon Tuesday August 10, Shotgate Recreation Ground, Tuesday, August 17 and at Noak Bridge Primary School, Tuesday, August 24.
