A pensioner was airlifted to hospital after her car left the new A120 and became entwined in deer fencing.
Dunmow firefighters were sent to the scene between the Dunmow West and Stansted Airport junctions at Little Canfield yesterday
A Volkswagen Golf driven by the 77-year-old woman from Coggeshall left the road, crashed through deer fencing and brought down a 100-metre stretch of posts and wire mesh, and became entangled in it.
The car finished up a gravel path at the side of Frogs Hall bridge.
