Firefighters have come to the rescue of the owner of an award-winning nature reserve.
Frinton firefighters help out at Pedlars Wood nature reserve
Pensioner Pam Garrad had been finding it heavy going watering 200 newly-planted plants at Pedlars Wood.
So an appeal went out for help and retained firefighters at nearby Frinton answered the call to hose them down.
Now, with a bit of luck, the geraniums and lobelia will soon be flowering, thanks to their efforts.
The seven-acre wood has been a magnate to thousands of visitors since it was restored by nature worker Mrs Garrad 17 years ago - especially school parties.
This year the woodland needs to look its best for Frinton's entry to the Anglia in Bloom competition.
