Councillors who turned their noses up at the answers BP gave them about nasty odours plaguing Basildon and Castle Point are to be given a second chance to voice their concerns.
A representative from the BP Refinery at Coryton is set to attend Castle Point's health, housing and leisure overview and scrutiny meeting on Thursday.
The step comes after a visit made by councillors to the refinery nine months ago failed to clear up the mystery of odour monitoring and left councillors fearing there may be more pong problems to come.
Councillor Bill Dick said: "I was personally not convinced on the answers on monitoring of emissions.
