Youngsters put their creative talents to the test when they took part in a sand-modelling competition.
Frinton seafront was turned into an artistic display of sand sculptures, which were more than just a simple sandcastle.
Among the models created on the beach at the bottom of Connaught Avenue, Frinton, on Saturday, was a map of the world complete with flags, Goldilocks and the three bears, and the Great Wall of China.
There was even a car with a real exhaust.
The Rev Andrew Rose, of Frinton Parish Church, said: "It went very well. The standard was brilliant."
He said the models were very ingenious.
The event is normally held during the week-long annual Frinton churches' Mission event.
But this year because of the tides the competition was brought forward a week.
