Twenty-eight portable swimming pools have been snatched from a locked chalet, on the London-bound A127.
Police are appealing for people who may have been offered a cheap inflatable pool over the weekend to come forward.
The pools, of two designs, were stolen from Crystal Clear Leisure, a Rayleigh pool and spa company, either late on Thursday or during the early hours of Friday.
They were being stored in a locked chalet inside the company's premises.
