Firefighters were on hand for a job of a very different kind showing the public around their station.
Frinton fire station was open to the public on Saturday and about 200 people took advantage of the chance find out more.
Fire safety information was given to visitors and they also got the chance to look over a fire engine. Children learnt what it was like to be a real firefighter when they squirted water from a hose.
A spokesman for Frinton fire station said: "We gave them an insight into how the fire brigade works."
