Patients will be able to enjoy a cool summer stay in Southend Hospital thanks to the donation of ten new fans.
The Friends of Sutton and Shopland was set up 14 years ago by neighbours and friends.
The group has held regular events including dances, fetes and music fairs to support the local church and charities.
The latest £500 raised went towards the new fans, which were presented to the Shopland ward at Southend Hospital.
Ward manager Elaine Barrett said: "I thank the Friends for their kind donation.
"They will enable the comfort of patients to be enhanced now the weather is becoming warmer."
