Billericay ground out a hard fought draw at third placed Upminster, following a keenly contested and high scoring encounter.

Having put the home-side into bat after winning the toss, Billericay took four wickets as Upminster eventually ended up on 274.

Bowlers Nathan Batson and Danny Pryke finished with identical figures of 2-87 as Upminster batted well to set up the healthy total.

In reply, however, 53 from Anthony Crummie helped Billericay earn a draw.

The powerful batsman hit a vital half century and was well supported by David Cole (46) and Gary Hynes (36 not out) who made 76 between them for the eighth wicket -- a partnership secretary Anne Batson revealed was key to helping her side avoid defeat.

"We batted really well and managed to pull it back later in our innings," she said.
