Southend United manager Steve Tilson will today discover whether experienced centre back Spencer Prior will be joining the Shrimpers.

The former Manchester City man has impressed while on trial with the Blues in recent weeks and Tilson would love to bring his ex-team mate back to Roots Hall on a permanent basis.

"He's done well for us in the friendlies but I really don't know what he's going to decide," said Tilson.

"We've made him what I think is a good offer and now it comes down to whether or not Spencer wants to come to the football club.

"I would say it's 50/50 right now as I'm really not sure. I spoke to him last night though and I should be finding out his decision later today."

Prior, who was released by Championship side Cardiff City at the end of last season, missed the Shrimpers' 3-3 draw at Dagenham and Redbridge on Saturday and is not expected to figure this evening as the League Two outfit continue their build-up against Billericay Town at New Lodge.
