Thanks to the flicks of paintbrushes, a horrendous eyesore looks like a tropical paradise.
A well-used underpass in Colchester was cleared of glass and grafitti before youngsters get to work on making it look more like a Caribbean beach.
The Baronswood Way walkway was given the makeover by pupils from Alderman Blaxill School.
Community development worker Jim Painter identified the spot as being in need of a change.
He said: "This was an horrendous area, it was indescribable to be honest. Hopefully now we have made something which is quite special."
