Leigh sunk to an unexpected three-wicket defeat at struggling Horndon after being ripped apart by bowler Dave Goldstone.
The Horndon seamer took all six of the Leigh wickets to fall for just 85 runs during an impressive 26 overs of action.
Despite Goldstone's match winning display however, Leigh skipper Simon Burch hit a stylish 56, while Neil Goodman fell just short of his half century, falling for 48.
But the 212 total was not enough to prevent Horndon winning for just the second time this season.
Dave Stitson hit 87 and was assisted by former Leigh player Andy Ridley who was left unbeaten on 70 -- much to the disappointment of Leigh's Burch.
"We got stuffed," he said. "Our bowling was poor and we never looked like taking wickets."
