Children have been telling Maldon District Council exactly what they want.
Youngsters were waiting at the door of Maldon Town Football Club for the district council's consultation on new play equipment to begin.
A steady stream of visitors attended the event between noon and 9pm yesterday to talk to council staff and equipment manufacturers about how to spend £400,000 of the Livability Fund windfall.
The cash was awarded to the council earlier this year by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister to make improvements to parks and open spaces.
From the £2.8m awarded, a pot of £400,00 has been designated for youth facilities from swings to skateparks and will be spent on equipment for Maldon's Promenade Park, Oak Tree Meadow in Heybridge, St George's Field in Heybridge Basin and Burnham's Riverside Park.
