Southend Council is hoping it will once again win an award in the Anglia in Bloom competition after judges visited the town on Friday.

The borough has previously won the city category for towns with a population of between 100,000 and 200,000.
As well as the main event, Southend has entered sections for schools' projects, council floral displays, conservation projects, drought gardens, gardens for special needs, public open spaces, industrial areas and community projects.
Results of the contest will be announced on September 12.
