A new scheme is being set up in Southend to encourage more people to provide support and services to adults with learning disabilities.

The adult placement project will offer accommodation to people who are eligible for services from the social care department, allowing them to live with families who will be trained and supported to provide the care they need.

The scheme is being designed to provide both long-term accommodation and short breaks, which could range from a night to a few weeks or months.

This could be with a family, a couple or a single person and the length of the stay can be flexible.

Anyone interested in helping adults with disabilities should contact Sue Mitchell on 01702 534293.
