The 14-year-old King Edmund pupil will travel to SW19 in mid-August for a week long tournament -- with the eventual champion claiming a trip to La Manga in Spain.

"I can't wait to get there and play," said Sarah -- a member of the Southend and Leisure Tennis Centre.

"I always watch Wimbledon on the TV and I'm a big tennis fan so it really does mean a lot to me."

The youngster has yet to discover which court her opening round tie will be played on but is hoping for better weather following two unfortunate visits to the world famous club as a spectator.

"I think I'm a bit of a jinx," she said. "I've been to centre court as a fan twice and both times it has rained so hopefully I'll be luckier this time."
