Livewire Colchester United striker Wayne Andrews struck again as the U's continued their 100 per cent record in pre-season friendlies with a 2-0 win against Farnborough Town.

The pacy forward sped past the Conference side's defence to net Colchester's second, after Joe Keith had struck a free-kick on five minutes to earn the visitors a first-half lead.

It was Andrews' second goal of pre-season, coming straight after he netted his first last Saturday in the U's 2-1 win over Grays Athletic.

U's boss Phil Parkinson opted to play the majority of his first-team squad for the full 90 minutes.

And, despite earlier injury concerns, Gavin Johnson managed to play the whole game after coming off after only 12 minutes of the second half at Grays with a hamstring strain.

Craig Fagan was also able to shrug off a minor injury and get on to the pitch to play 25 minutes as a second-half substitute.

U's assistant manager Geraint Williams said: "It was a good workout for the lads and Farnborough were a hard-working side."
