Wayne Gray's second half strike sealed another pre-season triumph for the Shrimpers at Roots Hall last night.

The speedy striker slotted home a low right foot shot seven minutes into the second half to complete a gritty comeback from the home-side after Kevin Maher and Lee Boylan had both scored from the penalty spot.
Despite the result however, it was Canvey who started the stronger of the two sides with new signing Jon Keeling causing havoc on the left flank.
In fact, after just three minutes, Neil Gregory just failed to connect with the former Hornchurch winger's inviting left wing cross before Darryl Flahavan scrambled another deep Keeling centre to safety.
Having survived the early double scare, the Shrimpers then wasted a golden opportunity to open the scoring as Jim Corbett somehow fired Tes Bramble's pass straight at a grounded Danny Potter from six yards with the goal gaping.
And the embarrassing miss was soon to increase in significance as the Gulls opened the scoring in contentious circumstances in the 28th minute thanks to referee Mike Thorpe.
The Suffolk-based official adjudged Blues centre back Adam Barrett to have fouled Gregory from a Ty Gooden right wing corner which enabled the lethal Boylan to step forward and slam home the subsequent spot kick.
Thorpe took centre stage again in the 42nd minute - awarding the Shrimpers a penalty for a clumsy looking Keeling challenge on Mark Gower.
