Castle Point MP Bob Spink, who often raffles tours of the Palace of Westminster for good causes, saw his record shattered when bids for a day out reached £3,000.
Mr Spink usually raises hundreds of pounds by raffling off these events but an anonymous donation of "more than £1,000" shattered his previous records.
He said: "I usually manage to raise a few hundred pounds for the charity involved. I was simply gobsmacked when the bid reached £3,000."
Funds raised will go to the Tom Hurndall Foundation to help find peace in the Middle East.
