Colin Wallington is willing to give three teenagers a chance to stake a claim in Maldon Town's Southern League eastern division campaign.
Wallington has resisted the temptation to make wholesale changes to his Park Drive squad this summer.
Only Kevin Budge and Dean Parratt have joined, as Maldon look to consolidate in their new division following last season's promotion from the Ridgeons League.
However, Wallington is ready to give youth a chance with Chris Whelpdale, Bradley Stofar and Rob Edmunds set to play against Chelmsford City tonight.
"They all turned out for our under-18s last year and have shown a lot of promise in pre-season training," said Wallington.
"Chris is a right winger, Bradley a centre-half and Rob a midfielder and all are local lads.
"They will be given a fair chance, but if they are not good enough then I will have to go out and find players who are."
The match kicks-off at Park Drive tonight (7.45pm).
