Southend Sabres picked up their first win of the British Senior League Division Two South-East campaign when they won 18-6 at home to Maidstone Pumas.
The win lifts them clear of Pumas, and they have the chance to push home that advantage when they travel to Kent for their next match. Basildon's Essex Spartans host Maidstone next week.
