James, 22, from Rochford told how he didn't even expect to get a degree.

He said: "I left school six years ago with very poor GCSE results and went to Southend College. I received specialist learning support. I went on an intermediate media course and then an advanced course for two years before doing my degree.

"I never thought I would actually get my degree, and three years later I have. It just proves dyslexic students having trouble at school can also do it."

James added: "I had a wonderful time at college and I don't want to leave. I received such great support. I don't think I would have got this if I had gone elsewhere."
