Two intrepid women will be trekking through Nepal to raise money for charity.

Marion Felsher, of Cressing, and Jean De Bruin, of Great Notley, will be taking part in a 100km trek through some of the more remote parts of the country.

They are walking to raise money for Mind, the mental health charity, and have to raise £5,200 in sponsorship before they set off in November.

The pair are almost halfway to their target but need more sponsorship and support.

They face some daunting conditions because it is very hot and humid during the day and falls below freezing at night.

Miss De Bruin said: "We will be training on the Sussex Downs. By the time November comes around, we should be in peak condition."

Anyone who would like to offer their support can contact Miss Felsher, on 01245 397754, or Miss De Bruin, on 01245 397654
