Great Wakering Rovers will not have star new signing Danny Heale in action tonight when they open their pre-season programme with a visit from Grays Athletic.
Danny, son of legendary ex Basildon and Canvey striker Billy, was last season's top Essex Senior League scorer with champions Concord Rangers and, although having signed for the village club, is currently on holiday.
Said Wakering boss Tony Cross: "Danny has been a proven striker over a number of seasons in the Senior League and we're delighted to be able to offer him the chance to do it at a higher level.
"Tonight should be an interesting evening. We will have a number of new faces in action and I understand that Grays manager Mark Stimson will be bringing a large squad down."
