Plans for ten affordable flats could still be given the go-ahead as an appeal has been lodged.

The proposals for six one-bedroom flats, four two-bedroom flats and 15 on-site parking spaces on overgrown, vacant land in Church Parade, could resurface at Castle Point's planning committee.

The application was refused in May, after members made a site visit, even though council planners recommended it for approval.

At the time the council received 11 letters of objection. Residents were concerned about traffic, over-development of the site, noise and pollution.
