More than 200 people sipped Champagne and nibbled canapes to celebrate the opening of new restaurant Room 24.

But little Thomas, two, was more interested in sampling the chocolate delights on offer at the opening.
The restaurant opened its doors in Eastern Esplanade, Southend, last Thursday for revellers to party late into the evening.
The new restaurant, which serves modern European cuisine, features a lounge bar and is open for reservations.
