Less than 24 hours after their defeat by Hull, Canvey's first team squad were back in action on Saturday at Ridgeons Eastern Counties League Halstead.
With the area being hit by a violent thunderstorm and torrential rain, the match came close to being postponed but went ahead after the elements relented.
Gulls won 4-0 with goals from trialists Ahmed Mouyouokouop and Matthew Joseph plus Ollie Berquez with Spencer Knight, back training with the club following a couple of years out through illness and injury, grabbing the fourth.
