The cash, being donated to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital, was pulled in by collecting copper coins over the past academic year.
Scott, 16, had originally wanted to break the Guinness World Record for the longest ever line of coins but was scared off when he was told this would cost £40,000.
Instead, he set about raising money for charity, collecting £1,200 for the James Dorrington Cancer Fund, set up in tribute to a former Billericay School pupil who died from cancer in 2002.
This time round, Scott decided to help Great Ormond Street. He said: "Pupils, teachers and friends all donated so I want to thank them for helping out."
