When Jamiroquai fan Martin Swann married his cosmic girl Lorraine Cahill, he thought he was bordering on virtual insanity when he spotted his pop idol at the Brentwood hotel where they were spending their wedding night.
Martin, 31 and his bride were enjoying a drink at Brentwood's Holiday Inn when they saw Jamiroquai front man Jay Kay checking in at the hotel's reception.
Martin said: 'We went over to Jay Kay and said hello and asked if he wanted to have a drink with us for our wedding night. He was more than happy. I am a massive fan and have seen him in concert three times. Lorraine is a big fan too. Jay Kay was really nice. My wedding day was the happiest day of my life and meeting Jay Kay just topped it off.'
The couple, who live in Harold Wood, held their wedding ceremony and reception at Langtons in Hornchurch.
They met on holiday in Tenerife and are spending their honeymoon in the Maldives. Martin works for a Chelmsford-based housing association and Lorraine, 33, is a bank manager in the city.
