Go floor them Nicola . . . that's the message from fans hoping to see our Hadleigh hopeful come up trumps at next month's Olympic Games.
Nicola Willis
Nicola Willis, a 19-year-old member of Basildon's South Essex Club, was on Monday named as a member of Britain's six strong women's artistic gymnastics team for Athens.
Her selection followed her gaining the bronze medal in the British Championships last weekend and Echo photographer Robin Woosey caught Nicola in a classic floor exercise pose - her favourite discipline - as she said a pre Games farewell to her South Essex pals at the club's Cranes Farm Road headquarters.
Nicola left home yesterday to continue her Games build-up at Lilleshall, before travelling out to the British gymnastics training camp in Barcelona, in Spain, later this month.
It's the third Olympics running that the South Essex Club have been represented at the Games with Annika Reeder having appeared at both Atlanta in 1996 and Sydney in 2000.
