A Brentwood health club is spearheading a campaign to encourage children to shutdown their computers and get fit.
Dragons in Chindits Lane want to set the ball rolling after the recent Commons Health Select Committee report on obesity.
The report focused on the increase of obesity among children where numbers have tripled in the last 20 years. England now tops the league for the fastest growth in obesity in Europe.
Dragons is busy finalising the details of a six week Get Fit for Kids programme for the school summer holidays.
Gym instructor Tom Davey - a former footballer with Norwich and Southend United - said: "Being active and taking part in sport keeps you fit, helps with concentration and improves your lifestyle. If you look good and feel good, you will have a lot of confidence when you meet people and eventually go for interviews."
