Detectives are hunting a rapist who attacked a woman in the toilet of a Colchester kebab shop.

Police today issued descriptions of two men they want to speak to and asked anyone who can help track down the attacker to come forward.

Det Sgt Roger Napier said: "Two women went to the Chicago Rock Cafe and left about midnight for something to eat. They went to Best kebab shop in Queen Street and during that time one of the women, a 31-year-old, left the dining area.

"She went into the toilet at the back of the premises and she was followed by a man and subjected to a serious sexual assault."

Det Sgt Napier issued descriptions of two men, both white, seen in the takeaway around the time of the attack.

One was 28-30, 5ft 8ins, fit-looking, with a medium build and short hair. He was wearing a black top, blue jeans and beige trainers. The second was 5ft 7ins, in his mid to late-30s, muscular and of medium build.

Police want to speak to anyone who went into the kebab shop around the time of the rape, between midnight and 12.45am on Wednesday, July 7.

Witnesses should call Acting Det Sgt Terri Hayes on 01206 762212 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
