Jamie Cade blasted a hat-trick as Colchester United swept to a 6-1 win over Saffron Walden Town in their second pre-season friendly.
Hat-trick hero - Jamie Cade scored three times in the U's 6-1 demolition of Saffron Walden Town.
Triallist Ben Bowditch was on target with a header and youth-team players Jamie Guy and Richard Harris also found the net for the U's as boss Phil Parkinson fielded a reserve team for the encounter last night.
The U's own goal was the only dampener in what assistant boss Geraint Williams called a 'good work-out'.
Bowditch was hoping to impress along with three other triallists in Sam Swonell and Elliott Godfrey, from Watford, and Darren Currie, who has recently left Wycombe Wanderers.
