The new chief executive of Colchester Council has been chosen.
Members last night voted unanimously to install Adrian Pritchard in the £100,000-a-year post.
It was a case of second time lucky for the experienced former Suffolk County Council officer, who lost out to his predecessor, Andrea Hill, when the position last became vacant in 2001.
Council leader John Jowers said: "Hiring the right person for this important role is a crucial decision for the borough, so I am delighted to announce the appointment of Adrian Pritchard as our new chief executive."
