Police have urged residents to keep calling them with information after a tip-off led to an arrest.
Canvey officers have arrested a woman from Chatham, in connection with a burglary in Norton Avenue, Canvey.
The move came after a resident from nearby Holbek Road called police to report a person acting suspiciously outside her home.
Det Con Alex Gartshore said: "Very often our resources are stretched quite thin and, because police cannot get there, people cease calling us.
"This a good example of why we need people to keep us informed with what's going on. On this occasion we were able to identify a couple of people and made an arrest the next day. Every now and again a resident phones in with a very helpful tip-off and these are worth their weight in gold."
