Youngsters at a Bradfield home are looking foward to living in small family groups instead of one large unit.

The Priory Foundation, which has recently opened a second home to cater for those over 16 years old, is hoping to build four houses within the grounds of Jacques Hall.

The two projects, along with the refurbishment of the classroom block at the Harwich Road home, are costing about £1million.

Jacques Hall provides residential care, treatment and education for emotionally-damaged adolescents, taking up to 24 children aged 12 to 16 from all over the country.

Principal Chris Tanner said: "For the 15 years we have been open, everyone has lived in the house as one large group. Now we are going ahead with plans for four group homes for no more than six in each."
