Excited secondary pupils jetted off to China this week to get a taste of school life on the other side of the world.
Earlier this year St Clere's School, Butts Lane, Stanford-Le-Hope, hosted its first Chinese exchange Visit where five pupils from its partner school in Kumming came to visit.
Many pupils kept in touch and are now it is their turn to make a trip overseas to stay with their Chinese counterparts.
A school spokesman said: "This is a very exciting development as very few schools are able to offer an exchange visit to China."
