A teacher has travelled the equivalent of nearly 14 times round the world - just to get to school.
Nick Carter lives in Suffolk, but he has spent the past 31 years teaching design and technology at St Benedict's College, Colchester.
But now, with his leaving day fast approaching, his daily trips to the town are numbered. Also saying goodbye to staff and pupils is Roz Weaver, who is retiring after 20 years as school secretary.
Principal Alan Whelan said: "Each day for 31 years Nick has travelled to St Benedict's from his home in Flowton, near Hintlesham, Suffolk.
"He has hardly missed a day in all those years and so we reckon he has notched up 350,000 miles getting to and from school in Colchester."
Mr Carter, 60, worked at Manningtree High School for seven years before switching to the Roman Catholic school in Norman Way.
